I am a designer at Eriko Yamaguchi. I would like to share with you where my inspiration came from and what I am particular about when I am making a product.
Matou Coat Cotton Chino
The popular Matou coat is now available in chino fabric for spring and summer!
We created a spring/summer version of the "MATOU coat" that was most popular in the fall/winter season.
The fabric used is a shiny and taut machine-woven fabric made of 98% cotton and 2% Lycra.
This fabric, made in northern India, has a 2% Lycra content, which gives it a slight stretch.
Elegant luster and tension.
As part of ERIKO YAMAGUCHI's worldview, we would like to keep the ratio of hand-woven fabrics to machine-woven fabrics at about 50:50.
The contrasts and contrasts between hand-woven and machine-woven fabrics emerge when styled, expressing an impression of both warmth and strength.
This chino fabric is a very important machine-woven material for spring and summer in that sense.
We carefully selected fabrics that have a "tension" and elegant luster that cannot be achieved by hand spinning and hand weaving.
Dolman silhouette for easy carrying of backpacks
The concept for the spring/summer season is "Departure Gate.
This season, which expresses a sense of dynamism and will toward the starting point of a journey, we sought to make the garments lighter and easier to move than in spring and summer.
This outerwear from MATOU is actually also slightly modified from AW in terms of sleeve construction to make it easier to carry a backpack.
It is a dolman sleeve, which is connected to the body in one piece, but has been modified so that the backpack straps do not interfere with the clothing as they gouge the sides of the body.
The sleeves have also been adjusted to about 7 minutes in length, and will be enjoyable for a long time from spring to fall.
