DESIGN
This blouson has a characteristic softness that nestles close to the body, making it an appealing item.
The supple and lightweight leather was newly developed at MOTHERHOUSE 's own factory in Bangladesh. The matte leather in a subdued color can be matched with both casual and beautiful looks.
The stand-up collar design gives it a clean look while still having a good amount of room.
The short length can be worn with a variety of items such as pants, skirts, and dresses, and you can also enjoy the change of impression by opening the neck.
MATERIAL
Matou leather
This leather was newly developed for ERIKO YAMAGUCHI's apparel items in Bangladesh, where MOTHERHOUSE 's own factory is located. The leather is thinly tailored to fit the body, and is characterized by its suppleness, softness, and chic matte texture. Please enjoy the changes in texture and feel that only genuine leather can offer as time goes by.

I am a designer at Eriko Yamaguchi. I would like to share with you where my inspiration came from and what I am particular about when I am making a product.
[Inspiration.
I have been working with leather for a long time, and when I started clothing, I knew that I definitely wanted to make clothes out of leather someday. I thought the first thing I should try was ERIKO YAMAGUCHI's most popular item, so I challenged myself with craftsmen in Bangladesh.
When I first showed them a sample, they asked, "Is this for men's wear? Is it women's? Is it a jacket? Is it a coat? I saw many question marks on the faces of the craftsmen.
And then, "Are we going to produce this? What? How?" The questions were endless.
Morshed, the best bag craftsman in the world, said with a big smile, "I'm sure we can do it! with a big smile on his face, and told him to take a closer look at the cotton Matou coats he had made so far.
After a few days of staring at the patterns sent to us by our pattern maker, Goto-san, he said, "I'm going to start today.
I'll start today," he said. He slowly cut the leather and spent many times longer than for the bag to make the Matou coat.
When it was finished, he contacted me via LINE and sent me a picture of himself wearing it, and he was so proud of his face! Here it is!
[Attention to detail
The most particular thing was the development of the leather for the garments, which took a little over a year.
Clothing is a major industry in Bangladesh, but everyone uses polyester and other materials, and there are no factories that make leather clothing. Therefore, we started development without all the indicators such as type, tanning method, thinness, stretchiness, and so on.
I had a concern that leather garments are heavy, so I pursued maximum lightness, but the first leather was unsatisfactory in the way it wrinkled, so I had to redevelop it.
The next one was made supple, but I didn't like the shine, so I improved the matte quality.
Through such a process, we were finally able to create leather for clothing.
I am sure that the comfort of the leather will overturn the image of leather clothing.
My styling
I like the short sea turtle.
I wear it with wide pants underneath.
